Financing of the trail

Construction of the East of Poland Cycling Trail Green Velo is implemented within the scope of the project “Cycling Trails in Eastern Poland” co-financed from funds from the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Development Programme of Eastern Poland 2007-2013, Priority axis V: Sustainable development of tourist potential based on natural conditions, Clause V.2 Cycling routes.

The total value of the project is approximately PLN 274,000,000.00. This amount consists of expenses related to documentation preparation, project management, payments, monitoring, land purchases , construction and assembly works.

Source of project finance:

  • Funding from the European Regional Development Fund - 85%
  • Government funding - 10%
  • Donations by beneficiaries - 5%

The project value per region is as follows:

  • Lubelskie voivodeship – PLN 44,355,291.69
  • Podkarpackie voivodeship – PLN 65,919,922.77
  • Podlaskie voivodeship – PLN 58,951,443.45
  • Świętokrzyskie voivodeship – PLN 23,757,039.01
  • Warmińsko-mazurskie voivodeship – PLN 81,389,920.28

Promotional activities were carried out within the framework of the promotional component of the project entitled “Cycling Trails in Eastern Poland - Promotion”. The total value of the project is PLN 24,870,588.44. The project was co-financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Development Programme of Eastern Poland 2007-2013, Priority axis V: Sustainable development of tourist potential based on natural conditions, Clause V.2 promotion of cycling routes.

  • Funding from the European Regional Development Fund - 85%
  • Government budget - 15%

The beneficiary of the promotional component is Świętokrzyskie voivodeship which is implementing the project on its own behalf and for the benefit of other voivodeships in Eastern Poland.
The executive partner of the project is the Regional Tourism Organisation of Świętokrzyskie voivodeship.
The main project partners are the Marshall Offices and the Regional Tourist Organisations of Eastern Polish voivodeships.
