Green Velo nominated for the title "Cycle Route of the Year"
November 22, 2017On 7 November 2017, the nominees for the title "Cycle Route of the Year" were announced. The fight goes between four routes including the Polish GREEN VELO!
On Friday, March 2, 2018, during the first day of the Fiets en Wandelbeurs in Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the jury will award the corresponding bicycle trophy to the winner.
For the first time, a route in Poland receives a nomination. The 2,000 km long Green Velo runs through a number of national parks and historic cities in the east of that country. Excellent signposted cycle paths, rustic roads and strategically chosen 'bicycle service points' characterize this newcomer to the route front.
The other nominees are:
ViaRhôna (815 km) in Switzerland and France;
The International Meuse Cycle Route in France, Belgium and the Netherlands (approx. 1,000 km)
Kattegatt members in Sweden (370 km)
