Staszów And The Vicinity
Historical Towns and Villages
Staszów is a city that has preserved the architectural layout form the 17th century. Its heart, together with the town hall of the 18th century, is the market halls known as the Stalls.
Not far away, there are two interesting churches: the Shrine of St Pope John Paul II and the historic Church of Bartholomew from the 14th century. In the temple, you should pay attention to the rich stucco in the chancel of the Tęczyński family chapel and the Mannerist chapel of the 17th century. Just 3 kilometres from the town is Golejów: a complex of several dozen small karst lakes and ponds surrounded by forests. On the largest of them, Duży, resorts and eateries are located. It’s the perfect place for lovers of active leisure with both cycling and hiking excursions, as well as fishing.
