Fort Werner in Żurawica is one of the best preserved fortifications of Festung Przemyśl (Przemyśl Fortress). The name comes from its first commandant, Antoni Werner.
It was built in the years 1882-1886. The force of the fort was over 300 soldiers, while the area of the fortification covers approx. 8 hectares, with barracks, caponiers, casemates and moats. Currently, the fort is arranged as a museum where you can view exhibits from the siege of Festung Przemyśl.
