Green Velo

The bicycle trail in the Grodzisko Dolne Municipality is a route of just over 25 kilometres long, in the shape of a loop. It runs through forest and agricultural areas, located near the mouth of the Wisłok River flowing into the San River. The route is a typically recreational trail, running in large part on forest paths and paths as well as on field and dirt roads. There are no unique monuments, but the route is interesting due to the large number of forests and nice landscape of fields and meadows of this part of the Subcarpathian region. This is the area between the localities of Łańcut, Przeworsk and Leżajsk.

The general course of the trail is as follows: Grodzisko Dolne, Zalew Czyste (0.0 km) - Opaleniska (7.3 km) - a place of remembrance in the forest (10.7 km) - Zmysłówka (15.4 km) - Grodzisko Górne (20.4 km) - Grodzisko Dolne (23.2 km) - Grodzisko Dolne, Zalew Czyste (26.2 km).

The trail starts at the Czyste artificial lake near the village of Grodzisko Dolne. At this place you can see, among others, St. Barbara’s defensive church built around 1700, as well as several dozen chapels and numerous, historic wooden houses dating back to the 19^th and 20th centuries and the remains of a Jewish cemetery.

Then the trail runs through forests where there are cemeteries and memorials associated with World War II. The trail loops around the village of Zmysłówka leading alongside the "Zmysłówka" nature reserve, which protects a natural larch tree stand. There is a large uphill stretch near the village of Podlesie, but as a reward the cyclist may admire the panorama of the Leszczynka river with the hill, in which the Grodzisko Dolne and Górne villages are located.

The bicycle trail runs through the fields, but finally, between the Grodzisko Górne and Dolne villages, another ascent awaits the cyclist, this time on the hills that surround the valley from the east. After a sharp downhill ride, the route passes through the centre of the village of Grodzisko Dolne to come back to the lagoon.

The entire trail is suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail uses solely roads with no motor vehicle traffic allowed, or local roads with a low and very low vehicle traffic; no dangerous intersections. A recreational trail.
