This 26-kilometre-long trail marked in red is a loop, starting in the locality of Kadyny and traversing the Kadyny Forests. The route is quite difficult, due to the long uphill stretches and soft surfaces of forest roads. On the other hand, the trail goes through picturesque forests and offers views of the Vistula Lagoon and the monuments in Kadyny. The surface on the route is almost exclusively natural. Most of the roads used are gravel roads, but there are also unpaved, forest firebreaks. Rocky stretches can be a bit of a hurdle, especially when going uphill.

The general route of the trail is as follows: Kadyny, Bażyński Oak (0.0 km) - Janówek (2.1 km) - Tolkmicko, edge of the town (4.6 km) - Pagórki (19.5 km) - “Las Kadyński” reserve - road to the monastery (24.9 km) - Kadyny, Bażyński Oak (26.1 km).

The beginning and the end of the trail are located in the forest near the village of Kadyny. The locality is known for the Bażyński Oak. With an estimated age of 700 years, this natural monument is allegedly the oldest tree in Poland. Kadyny has a preserved old rural layout and a variety of monuments. You can see the former factory of majolica from the early 20th century, an 18th century Franciscan monastery and a large complex of buildings which are part of the former residence of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. In the forest on the hill above Kadyny, there is a Franciscan monastery, currently under reconstruction. The artificial lake in Kadyny at the shore of the Vistula Lagoon has a beach and an area for swimmers where you can relax after the trip. The interesting town of Tolkmicko is also not far from the trail. For cyclists who want to try this route, it is recommended to consider the choice between the red trail and the MTB trail of the Elbląg Forest District. The latter has a very similar route, but takes you on roads that are a bit better to ride, and is more varied. It does not pass through Kadyny, but you can see this locality also without using the signposting of bike trails.

Points of interest along the trail:

  1. Kadyny - palace complex with stables, majolica factory, Bażyński Oak
  2. Las Kadyński - natural monuments, monastery
  3. Elbląg Upland Forests
  4. Tolkmicko - architectural monuments, urban layout
  5. Panoramic view of the Vistula Lagoon

Not all fragments of the trail are suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail uses solely roads with no motor vehicle traffic allowed or local roads with a low and very low vehicle traffic; no dangerous intersections.
