This trip is an excellent opportunity to meet various landscape attractions in the surroundings of Rzeszów. It is recommended not only to inhabitants of Rzeszów, but also to all tourists who want to see the Rzeszów Reservoir, the palace & park complex in Tyczyn and a panorama of Rzeszów during one short trip. The trip around the surroundings of Rzeszów starts in the parking area of the campus of the University of Rzeszów in Zalesie – a city district located below university buildings – and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The trail running on ul. Robotnicza passes by the centre of Zalesie on the right and leads farther towards the Drabinianka district, crossing Aleja Generała Władysława Sikorskiego. Then, on Strażacka and Podmiejska streets, it leads towards the Rzeszów Reservoir. It is worth turning aside to ul. Kwiatkowskiego to see the favourite resting place of Rzeszów inhabitants – the Żwirownia bathing beach. Then the trail runs south along the main Green Velo Trail on Kwiatkowskiego and Jana Pawła II streets. After around 4 km away from the reservoir, you must leave the Green Velo Trail and turn left to ul. Herbowa, which leads to the border of the city and the neighbouring town of Tyczyn. In Tyczyn, you must head for the Wodzicki Palace through Orkana and Grunwaldzka streets. The recently renovated building is the true gem of the town. The north-eastern part of the palace & park complex encompasses the former manor area, and the palace surrounded by a park is situated on the highest elevation. The 19th-century eclectic appearance of the mansion has survived until today. Only few traces of former splendour have remained inside the building: the hallway with the fireplace and the marble floor, the mezzanine, representative stairs and a small part of original furniture. The park surrounding the palace is an excellent place to rest. Around 1,500 trees and shrubs grow here, including historic maple-trees, lime-trees, oaks, hornbeams, ashes and beeches, part of which is over 200 or even 300 years old. Then the trail runs on Grunwaldzka street through the Tyczyn Market Square and then on Mickiewicza and Zagrody streets to Kielnarowa. Here, at the nearest intersection, you must turn left and, after around 1 km, reach the intersection with the provincial road no. 878, through which you must go straight. Riding farther towards Matysówka, you can watch a breathtaking panorama of Rzeszów.
