The Pottery Bicycle Trail is a thematic bike trail of a little over 20 kilometres long, leading around the village of Medynia Głogowska. It presents pottery traditions which are still alive in this area. On the trail you can see a pottery studio, as well as a ceramic workshop and a ceramic art gallery, traditional kilns and pottery workshops.

The trail also shows the nature of nearby forests and a bit of old Subcarpathian rural housing, which has been preserved in the area. It is suitable for a recreational ride, combined with an educational theme. Due to fragments of busy roads, it is not recommended for trips with children. The signposting is quite uneven, and without a map, unfortunately, you can get lost.

The general route of the trail is as follows: Medynia Głogowska, Pottery Centre (0.0 km) - Medynia Łańcucka (3.6 km) - Pogwizdów (4.4 km) - Czarna (8.7 km) - Zalesie (17.2 km) - Medynia Głogowska, Pottery Centre (22.0 km).

The route begins at the pottery yard in Medynia Głogowska. This is the most interesting place of the Medynia Pottery Centre, covering the surrounding villages: Medynia Głogowska, Pogwizdów and Zalesie. It was created in the 19th century and thanks to the presence of excellent quality pottery raw material - greasy clays and fragile fire clay - it quickly became one of the leading pottery centres in Poland. There were over 120 plants producing ceramic utility vessels. The renaissance of local crafts began in the 1950s, when local factories began to produce traditional pottery for the Cepelia Polish Art and Handicraft Export Head Office. Then, more artistic crafts developed, and the local pots and other utensils became works of art. Pottery from Medynia has become a valuable brand. After the transformation of 1989, the craft collapsed with the "Cepelia" Polish Art and Handicraft Export Head Office, but now old customs and traditions are being reactivated and the area is again becoming known for pottery. For this reason, among other things, the Pottery Bicycle Trail was marked out.

After seeing the pottery farm, it's worth taking a bike along the route. Nearby you can see, among others, the Władysław Pruchnal Gallery of Ceramic Sculpture and ceramic workshops. You can see there ceramics kilns and traditional pottery workshops. On the trail there are conveniently arranged rest areas for cyclists, equipped with bicycle stands and fire rings.

In the forest located east of Medynia Głogowska, through which the route runs, there are beaver lodges. On the trail there are also many chapels, a memorial site and some traditional wooden buildings.

Points of interest along the trail:

  1. Medynia Głogowska - pottery centre
  2. Gallery and ceramics workshops
  3. Nature observation sites near Medynia Głogowska

The entire trail is suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail runs only on roads without road traffic or on local roads with a low and very low volume of traffic; no dangerous intersections. A recreational trail. A trail with special qualities of cultural heritage.
