A short, recreational bike trail running from the city of Lidzbark Warmiński to Lake Wielochowo. A family route, just over 10 km long, perfectly signposted, without sections of heavy road traffic. Part of the route is on asphalt roads, some are dirt roads running through the fields, and between the city and the bathing beach there is a cycling path. There are no monuments on the trail, but its greatest asset are the picturesque views of the fields and forests that grow over the hilly countryside. Going on a trip, you have to be prepared for numerous ascents and descents, so despite the short distance the trail is quite tiring.

The general course of the trail is as follows: Lidzbark Warmiński, intersection of Dąbrowskiego and Polna streets - northern part of the city (0.0 km) - Koniewo (4.3 km) - Wielochowo (7.0 km) - Lidzbark Warmiński, intersection of Dąbrowskiego and Polna streets (11.3 km).

The start and end of the route is in the city of Lidzbark Warmiński. The city was granted town privileges in 1308. From the mid-14th century to the end of the 18th century it was the capital of the Warmia region - an important economic, cultural and religious centre. The city centre still has a Medieval urban layout, city walls with a High Gate, historic buildings of the market square, including the 19th-century town hall. The most widely recognized monument of the city is the Castle of the Bishops of Warmia - one of the most valuable monuments of this type in Poland.

The first part of the route runs along a little-frequented asphalt road to the village of Koniewo. In this section the trail runs in the valley of the Łyna River, which flows to the east of the road. In the surrounding forests there are bunkers and fortifications of the so-called "The Lidzbarski Triangle", built before World War II by the Germans. They guarded Eastern Prussia, and the Versailles Treaty forbade them to be built south of the city of Lidzbark. For this reason, the city was as if in the wedge of these fortifications, running north towards the village of Bartoszyce and west towards the village of Orneta. Hence the name of the fortifications, because Lidzbark was somehow at the tip of these fortifications. Some of them can be found in the forests even today.

From the village of Koniewo, the trail turns into fields, to the west, and runs along dirt roads to the village of Wielochowo. You can relax there at the municipal bathing beach, located at the bank of Wielochowo lake. From here the route runs back to Lidzbark, partly along the Green Velo route. On the provincial road there is the famous "glow in the dark cycling path ". This is a short section, located on the provincial road. It's worth covering this section at dusk.

Points of interest along the trail:

  1. Lidzbark Warmiński - monuments, urban layout
  2. Wielochowo - a bathing beach at Lake Wielochowo
  3. "Glow in the dark" bike path near the provincial road
  4. Views - hilly landscape of the lake district

The entire trail is suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail uses solely roads with no motor vehicle traffic allowed, or local roads with a low and very low vehicle traffic; no dangerous intersections. The trail is especially recommended for families with children and children's trailers. A recreational trail.
