The trail of the trip leads through little-known corners of the Sandomierz Forest. Villages near the forest often contain true oases of peace and relaxation. The most important attractions on the trail are: the Reservoir in Wilcza Wola, a historic manor house with a park in Dzikowiec, and a centuries-old beekeeping enclosure. The sight of wild animals that occur so frequently here can bring additional attractions. The trip starts beside the building of the Commune Office in Raniżów – a village situated on the Kolbuszowa Plateau, in the heart of the former Sandomierska Forest. This land has been famous for the rich fauna living in forests and fields since the Middle Ages. They were favourite hunting grounds of Polish kings: Casimir the Great and Władysław Jagiełło. Today you can also meet plenty of game here, including roe-deer, wild boars, hares, pheasants, storks, hawks or even white-tailed eagles. When leaving Raniżów, go north to Wola Raniżowska. Then the trail leads through Gwoździec, Spie and Wilcza Wola, where it passes by the picturesque Maziarnia lake, and then through Kopcie and Lipnica to Dzikowiec. In Dzikowiec, there is a historic manor house & park complex consisting of a classicist manor house with an outbuilding and a granary; it was erected in the 1st half of the 19th century and is situated in a picturesque park. One of the more important places on the trail of the trip is Zembrza. Riding towards it, you can easily lose your way on unmarked forest crossroads, so we recommend taking a map or a GPS. In Zembrza, there is a centuries-old beekeeping enclosure. In the times when this area was overgrown with the thick Sandomierska Forest, John II Casimir gave an order to clear the forest and to create an enclosure that would supply the royal court with honey and wax. Interestingly, this place is still inhabited by descendants of founders of the enclosure, who continue to engage in beekeeping. The last section of the trail, which is around 5 km long, leads back from Zembrza to the centre of Raniżów.

Trail option (56 km):

When in Stary Nart, you can take a short ride to Nowy Nart to see the historic former manor house park. After its recent restoration, it became an important tourist attraction of the land. To return to the main trail of the trip, go back the same way.
