The river port, the picturesque Ulanów town, forests near Harasiuki and idyllic landscapes – you can see it all during one trip. Bikers can expect such attractions as the Museum of Polish Rafting in Ulanów, rafting trips, boulevards, inland dunes and forests in the area of Harasiuki that are famous for an abundance of mushrooms. The trail of the trip starts on the market square in Ulanów – a town located at the confluence of San and Tanew rivers, which is famous for its centuries-long rafting tradition. In times of the biggest splendour of the town, an important river port existed here; it was used for transporting grain by rafts from the south of Poland to Gdańsk, and the town itself was called “Little Gdańsk.” The development of rail transport led to the disappearance of the rafting tradition; nevertheless, many enthusiasts make efforts to protect local heritage.  In 1991, the Brotherhood of Lovers of the Ulanów Land was established; its statutory goal is to develop and cultivate modern forms of rafting tradition. The Brotherhood wants to revive the transport of timber by rafts and organises scow rafts for tourists. While staying in Ulanów, you can visit the Museum of Polish Rafting, see the local market square and stroll on boulevards along the San river. We also recommend visiting the point where the Tanew joins the San. From Ulanów the trail runs on ul. 3 Maja to the east towards Dąbrowica. Here, on one of the crossroads, there is a sign with information that the provincial road no. 858 is a dead end. You must ride this road farther to the east, to the point where the asphalt surface turns into a gravel surface. This around 2.5 km long section of the trail is one of the most picturesque areas. Here you will come across field crossroads, through which you must go straight.

Past the forest, in Sieraków, the surface turns into asphalt again. On the left side of the road, there is one of the inland dunes that abound in this area. Then, along the Tanew river, the trail leads to Harasiuki forests, which are known as a “kingdom of mushroom pickers.” The forest stand includes pines, oaks, birches and other trees, and the undergrowth contains berries, cow-wheat and bracken. Mushroom pickers can spend the night in local agrotourist farms.

The trail leads farther through the forest towards Hucisko and Krzeszów. Along this section, you can often come across wild animals. At the crossroads in Krzeszów, you must turn right, heading for Ulanów.
