The Pierzchnica - Ujny Trail is a non-signposted (during field verification in 2015) bike trail with a length of 5 kilometres, connecting the Green Velo route with the town of Pierzchnica. The trail runs on an asphalt road between the village of Ujny, located in the middle of the Green Velo trail between the artificial lake in Borów and Raków, and the town of Pierzchnica.
The village of Ujny is situated on the edge of the Ciśniańsko-Orłowiński Landscape Park. It is a hilly, heavily forested area, very sparsely populated. However, Pierzchnica is a small village with a population of just over 1000 inhabitants, which was a city from the Middle Ages until the January Uprising. It has a typical urban layout for a small town, and a church dating back to the 18th century with a belfry and a historic cemetery.
From Pierzchnica, you can continue your bike ride to Chmielnik, Piotrkowice or Morawica; the distances to these interesting localities are around 10 kilometres.
Points of interest along the trail:
- Pierzchnica - a historic urban layout, a church and a complex of sacred buildings
- The Cisowsko-Orłowińskie Forests
The entire trail is suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail runs only on roads without road traffic or on local roads with a low and very low volume of traffic; no dangerous intersections.
