The red trail in the Korsze municipality is a loop of just over 20 kilometres, recommended for cyclists who like light MTBs. The route is quite hilly and varied, with poor signposting, but the advantage of the route are scenic views and numerous monuments. Pavements are mainly gravel; mountain bikes with wide tires are recommended for this trail.

The general course of the trail is as follows: Korsze, station (0.0 km) - Wandajny (4.1 km) - Trzeciaki (7.5 km) - Łankiejmy (13.7 km) - Korsze (22.3 km).

The trail starts and ends near the Korsze railway station. The settlement developed in the second half of 19th century, thanks to the decision to locate a large railway junction here. It was here where the long-distance railway lines between Königsberg - Odessa and Berlin - Vilnius intersected. The town was taken over by railwaymen, and life revolved for years around the railway station. The most important monuments in Korsze are railway water towers. The tower with a ball-shaped tank is especially valuable. This is one of the three towers with such design preserved in Poland. A historic locomotive, located at the railway station, also reminds visitors about the railway nature of the city.

In the first part, the trail runs to the south, by a provincial road to the village of Wandajny. A part of the old manor complex and farm buildings have been preserved here. From here the trail runs through fields and forests, mainly along dirt roads, to the village of Łankiejmy. The area is picturesque, and in the villages along the route, numerous old red brick houses have been preserved, covered with ceramic tiles, with decorative cornices and friezes. Such buildings were characteristic for the whole area of East Prussia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The structures preserved to this day are a part of characteristic cultural landscape of the Warmia village. Despite the destruction inflicted by the Red Army during the 1945 offensive and the subsequent long-term devastation of abandoned estates, the beauty of the old architecture has been rediscovered in recent years.

In the village of Łankiejmy, the huge, Gothic St. John the Baptist church is noteworthy. It was built of field stones and bricks in the Teutonic era. In the past, there was also a palace here, the remains of which can be seen at the park. Further the trail runs northwards, in the valley of the small Sajna River. After a few kilometres, the route turns eastwards and runs back along an asphalt road to the starting point of the trip next to the Korsze railway station.

Points of interest along the trail:

  1. Korsze - railway station complex
  2. Wandajny - remains of a manor house complex
  3. Łankiejmy - a Gothic church
  4. Nice scenery on the trail.

Fragments of the trail are not suitable for bicycles with panniers/bike trailers. The trail runs fully or partially on roads with medium traffic volume. There is at least one dangerous intersection (without bicycle crossing or traffic lights); probably not recommended for families with children. A recreational trail. A trail for lovers of mountain biking and off-road cycling.
